What is the difference between EDT, EDP, and EDP Intense concentrations?

The difference between cologne types is the percentage of oil in each composition. Bellow the breakdown of oil concentration and the alcohol counterpart:

EDT -> 1-4% of oil concentration -> up to 99% of alcohol. Typically this type of cologne concentration has good projection but lacks longevity.

EDP -> 4-12% of oil concentration -> up to 96% of alcohol. Typically this type of cologne concentration projects less than the EDT counterpart but has better longevity.

EDP Intense-> 8-12% of oil concentration -> up to 92% of alcohol. Typically this type of cologne concentration projects less than the EDP counterpart but has better longevity. They often smell more “natural” or less alcoholic than their EDT and EDP counterparts.

D&G The One EDT vs. EDP vs. EDP Intense concentration, which is the better option?

There is often a misconception that as long as the cologne has the same name, the oil concentration would not change the overall smell of the cologne. This statement could not be farther from the truth. Some brands keep tweaking the fragrance DNA, but most of the releases are different interpretations of the DNA and, therefore, a distinct smell. So to answer that question, you need to test all three versions, so if you like projection, take the EDT. If you want longevity, take the EDP; if you want a more “natural” less alcoholic smell, select the EDP Intense.
