Does the perfume color define the smell of the fragrance?
Types of fragrances
Before we talked about the fragrance’s color, let us talk about a way to understand a fragrance note breakdown is to understanding four primary classifications. You can start with one of the most used in perfume making, the Fresh notes; this group contains Lavender, Bergamot, Marine, Galbanum, and Berries. The second group to be understood is the Floral notes; Flowers, Powdery, and Orange Blossom. The following two groups are the most challenging group of notes for an inexperienced nose. The Oriental notes contain; Incense, Oriental Resins, and Sandalwood. The last but no less important group of notes is the Woody notes; Vetiver, Oakmoss, and Dry Woods.
Different blends and colors
If you are a young nose, after reading the first paragraph, you probably identify yourself with one of the first two groups (Fresh and Floral). But what if I tell you that in your favorite perfume note breakdown, you will probably find a blend of at least three groups? Now you are probably thinking out of my three favorite fragrances; two are from the same color, so they should share the same notes. Guess what? No, the color has nothing to do with the smell of perfumes. Like the fragrance packaging, it can give you an idea, but it is up to your nose and smell interpretation. Having said that, let us talk about; does the fragrance’s color defines the smell of the fragrance?
Let’s talk about color.
Let’s discuss the notes breakdown of these four fragrances. All four fragrances chare the same blue color. In some of them, it is light blue, and in others, it’s a darker blue. Let’s start with Versace Signature notes breakdown:
This fragrance blend is between two of the types discussed above Fresh and Floral.
Versace Signature is light blue perfume color, and it is a safe fragrance that is good for any occasion. It has a good projection for the first thirty minutes; then it dries down and gets very close to the skin. It’s a very good out of the shower, easy grab scent. The only downside is that the smell fades away in three to four hours. At this point, you must be asking yourself, why would I want a three to four hours fragrance? Let me tell you three occasions that come to mind: The first is fresh out of the shower after a long day of work; this refreshing fragrance will lift your mood. The second one is to do shores, and the third one is to work in a non-office environment.
The second fragrance is:
Nautica Blue’s blend comprises three of the four fragrance notes discussed above Fresh, Floral, and Woody.
Nautica Blue has a blue perfume color, and it is an excellent all-around fragrance. It is also fresh out of the shower scent. It has a reasonable projection for the first hour; then, it dries down and forms a scented bubble around your skin. This fragrance will give you five to six hours on the skin before it fades out. Where can it be used? This one could be worn fresh out of the shower and is suitable for an office environment as the first fragrance.
The third fragrance is:
Encre Noir Sport blend comprises two fragrance notes discussed above Fresh and Woody.
Encre Noir Sport has a dark blue perfume color and is excellent for formal occasions or even business meetings. It is not a fragrance that is easy to pull off. It has a good projection in the first hour; then, it dries down and gets very close to the skin. It will give you four to five hours before it fades out.
The fourth fragrance is:
Rasasi’s Shuhrah blend comprises the four fragrance notes discussed above Floral, Fresh, Woody, and Oriental notes.
Shuhrah has a light blue perfume color, and you can wear it for clubbing. If Sin could be a person, he would be wearing this scent. This fragrance projects heavily for the first five to six hours, and then it creates a pleasant smell bubble at arm’s length that will last for the next six or seven more hours. Since this fragrance is a master of projection and longevity, you can use this scent for outdoor nightlife and clubbing.
After all this information, we can conclude that a fragrance’s color does not have anything to do with the actual scent, the projection, or the duration.
